“We still never saw the bank documents we asked for and we’re told a new account was opened and money was transferred but still no account statements were ever shared.”

“I have never received a notice about board elections, the same members seem to keep re-electing themselves.”
“My latest request for records has gone ignored for a couple of months now.”

“Meeting minutes at this point are a year behind.”
“Each owner is to pay $10,263 even though not all the roofs have the same square footage.”
“The HOA/property mgr gave demonstrably false election results for a $58,000 special assessment, has failed to produce requested voting and financial records and is now proposing fee increases above the legal CPI-based limit.”
“Was issued a nuisance violation that never existed as claimed.”
“I opposed the Board attempting to fine a homeowner $5,000 and make them replace their roof ($15,000 out of pocket) for using a different shade of gray roof shingle.”
“I received a letter to tear down the dog run in 3 days or be fined $250 for the first day and $50 a day for every day afterward.”
“They placed a $100 fee on my account that they refuse to address.”

“But when a hole in my roof was discovered, I waited months for the HOA to get their company to fix it.”
“AND there is no money to have the $330,000 repair completed in addition to wild-land maintenance completed.”

“A large special assessment (around $600,000) was done 3 years ago, and there are rumors another is coming with absolutely no financial report of the first one.”
“Many of us are on payment plans paying $620 extra a month until we pay off the special assessment, plus our monthly dues of $220.”
“A recent elect board (November 2023) has just passed and approved a $3,500,000 assessment regarding our building, where the smallest units will be responsible for $20,000 and it goes up from there.”
“So when I contacted my insurance company, they informed me that with my current policy, since I have a condo/walls in policy, it currently doesn't cover detached structures/garages, and I would have to change my policy to a regular policy which would increase my premium from $860/ year to $2,200/ year.”
“Greatly under reserved to about $300,000 or about $15,000 per unit.”
“Please note that we already replaced the roof (with the previous HOA) 4 years ago and it cost us $1,800 per door, and here, it is $14,259 per door!”
“The president of the Hoa threatened us with Felony criminal mischief for a minor and demanded $2,100 and for my daughter to do $2,100 of community service.”
“When we approached a Director of the Board and told him we were being harassed, his comment to us was "It isn't over until the HOA says it is over." Later that year, I was working with the President of the HOA, to reach a settlement with the HOA for ruts left in the grass (an area 7 x 23) as a result of the construction of the deck.”

“MOST HOA problems would be resolved by implementing a state-wide, state-run HOA web site that contains web pages for each respective HOA and houses electronic versions of respective CC&Rs, polices which are easily cross-referenced, along with Financial statements, invoices, electronic voting, balloting, customer satisfaction survey, etc.”
“My concerns are the HOA not providing documents in an accessible format for the blind homeowner.”

“The most significant concern is that the president hired a company formed by a friend and paid over $220,000 for landscaping services when the budget was only $36,000 and the president works very hard to stay on the board, including manipulating elections and avoiding election altogether by swapping places with a board member having 2 years left.”
“Like our streets which need to be paved at a cost of $550,000. Our sprinkler system broke this year and needed to be replaced throughout at a cost of $28,000 which was not in the budget. And in just the last 3 months we had 3 water line pipe breaks at a cost of $10,000 each.”

“The pool here has been closed for 2 YEARS this month, a complete debacle, and NO NOTICE OF common area closure as required by CCIOA, although I have been asking for this for 2 years.”
